Do you know how Calcutta came into existence? The villages of Gobindapur, Sutanuti and Kalikata developed to give rise to the later day metropolis of Calcutta. Now you know this city as Kolkata. Someone said so correctly. “Calcutta's the only city I know where you are actively encouraged to stop strangers at random for a quick chat.” Kolkata has long been known for its literary, artistic and revolutionary heritage. Kolkata has the capability of absorbing everyone. It will not allow you to feel alone. Kolkata is not a city, It's a feeling, life and probably so only we call it City of Joy. This city today may lacks in basic infrastructure like IT etc but one fact everyone should accept, people know how to enjoy life. The tag line is so true, Maach, Misti and Manush. In totality, LIFE.
